Hello from Poland
Terms of service
Last updated: 31 July 2026
Current status. The website is currently informational only. No public telephone line, volunteer app registration, or caller-volunteer connection is operating. These terms govern use of the website today and the live-service sections apply only after the service is activated.
1. Who runs the project
Hello from Poland is an independent project operated by Baghdad Telecom – Omar Alshaker, ul. Szkolna 78/2, 05-270 Marki, Poland, NIP 7010644234, REGON 366150049. The business details are available in the public CEIDG register entry.
2. Website use
You may use this website for lawful, personal, non-commercial information about the project. Do not interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access, scrape it in a way that harms availability, or use the project name or materials in a misleading way. The photographs, design, copy, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and may not be reused except where the law permits or the owner agrees.
3. Planned calling service
When launched, Hello from Poland is intended to connect a caller with an available volunteer in Poland for a friendly, unscripted conversation. Availability is not guaranteed. The service is not an emergency, crisis, legal, medical, financial, or translation service; do not use it to seek urgent help.
The service must not be used to harass, threaten, discriminate against, exploit, defraud, advertise to, solicit, impersonate, collect personal information from, or otherwise harm another person. Either participant may end a conversation at any time. The project may pause, limit, or end access where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, or enforcement of these terms.
4. Volunteers — when registration opens
Volunteer registration will require a Polish phone number and SMS verification. The app’s initial eligibility flow asks volunteers to confirm that they are in Poland and to complete a basic spoken-English check. These checks are intended only for the operation and safety of the project; they are not a formal language qualification or a guarantee of placement.
Volunteers must provide accurate information, keep access to their verified number secure, use the availability controls honestly, respect callers, and avoid sharing their own or another person’s sensitive personal information. The project may revise eligibility, safety, appeal, and accessibility procedures before launch.
5. Privacy, numbers, and recordings
Personal telephone numbers are not intended to be exchanged between callers and volunteers. The applicable data practices are described in the Privacy policy. If call recording is enabled for safety, it will be announced clearly before recording begins and the live notice will explain the legal basis, access, and retention. The proposed retention period is 90 days from the call date; no recording service is active today.
6. Costs and third parties
Hello from Poland does not state that calls are free. Your telecommunications provider may charge you according to your own plan, location, or roaming arrangement. You are responsible for checking those costs before making a call. The project may use communications and verification providers to operate the service; their services can be subject to their own terms.
7. Changes, suspension, and liability
The project may change, suspend, or discontinue the informational website or a future service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where that would be unlawful. To the extent permitted by law, the informational website and any future free cultural-conversation service are provided without a promise of uninterrupted availability, a particular conversation, or a particular outcome.
8. Applicable law and consumer rights
These terms are governed by Polish law, without limiting mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply in your country of habitual residence. Any dispute will be handled by a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. These terms do not remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms will be updated before the calling service or volunteer registration becomes public. Material changes will be published on this page with an updated date.
